About:
The Last Supper depicts Leonardo's view of a biblical event that happened in all four Gospels. The moment you see in the painting is after Jesus tells his disciples that one of them will betray him before sunrise (hence the horror on many of their faces). He is showing them how to eat and drink in remembrance of him. This is called the Celebration of the Eucharist, a ritual that is still celebrated today.
