Leonardo's self-propelled cart is pretty much the first version of a car. It has wheels, breaking capabilities, turning capabilities, and could run without an operator. This machine ran on clockwork and is in my opinion, Leonardo's best invention. Though he intended it for commercial use only (as a toy), if the self-propelled cart had been built, it most likely would have been put to work.
